Why Change Metabolism

Why Change Metabolism

The burnout of our people won’t be solved by managing the execution of change with better AI. It will be solved by teaching teams how to accept the reality of change at the same speed they can execute it. The Change Metabolism™ approach builds this capacity through three-centered teams that learn to change how they change, with their heads, hearts, and bodies.

“I wanted my executive team to be in creative conflict together. You’ve delivered everything I wanted in the first week. I’ve never seen my executive team more connected.”

- Executive in city government

“My team struggled with moving through uncertainty. You aren’t consultants or OD people. They just teach us by talking at us. You’re human and deeply get our team.”

- Product leader in healthcare

“I was skeptical when I heard we were doing this program as a leadership team. I didn't really know what the Enneagram was. I can tell you now that I'm happy you're here.”

Reforming three-centered teams

Reforming three-centered teams

Using the Enneagram as a team potential framework, we build team-level change capacity into your culture in 45-60 day cycles, team by team. Instead of training you how to change, we reform teams around real working challenges and facilitate the practice of new team-based change skills.

An equation for Change Metabolism

We leave you with a new language and an equation to get your teams unstuck. Because each team is different, the Change Metabolism map we build for yours lets leaders clearly see the dynamics that lead to successful or failed acceptance of change.

Our methodology is ours. The philosophy belongs to everyone. That's why we're releasing the equation openly, so any team can start measuring what it can't yet metabolize.

Mc=A×f(C)÷E

Mc=A×f(C)÷E

Mc=A×f(C)÷E

When Mc < 1, execution outpaces acceptance and the difference shows up as burnout.

(Mc) Change Metabolism: the ability to accept the reality of change at the same speed we execute it

(A) Acceptance: the degree to which people accept the reality of change

f(C) Conflict: the team's functional capacity to work well through conflict

(E) Execution: the speed at which we execute change beyond the status quo

About the facilitator

About the facilitator

Jon designs, coaches, and facilitates change for teams ready to stop operationalizing the status quo. Two decades inside the bureaucratic depths of large organizations taught him that sustainable change happens during critical transitions, when teams remember how to work together like humans again.

Jon has worked with teams across multiple Federal Reserve Banks, H&R Block, GEHA, Farm Credit Services of America, Black & Veatch, and several health systems, bridging human and business transformation in each. As co-founder of Empactful Partners and through his practice, Fresh Eggs, he designs Enneagram-informed ways of working that help teams get unstuck during their most important moments of change. His work is grounded in an Enneagram certification with Chestnut Paes and years of study in depth psychology and human potential.

Jon Kohrs is a design coach, consultant and teacher, focused on exploring reality from the inside out using experiential methods grounded in Reiki, depth psychology, Andean shamanic practices and other mystic traditions.

He designs and facilitates change by teaching organizational teams at the brink work in a whole new way. Using the Enneagram in the design of learning experiences, Jon unlocks organizational potential by helping people unlearn how they work - in order to relearn how to solve problems in more creative and abundant ways.

He is inspired to help leaders understand the unconscious shadow in the products and services we use every day so businesses can be more conscious of the collective ecology of design.
